Dubuque, Iowa (AP) Adidas and moulton have agreed to a three-year deal that will see the U.S. footwear giant supply the sneakers to the Midwest for the next five years.
Adidas’ adidas Originals and Moulton’s adidas shoes are both made in the U., with the former using recycled materials and the latter using recycled fabric.
Moulton said the partnership is part of the company’s strategy to expand into the footwear industry in order to meet the needs of its loyal clientele.
Adida said it is also providing technical assistance to Moultons suppliers, as well as the U-Haul company, for the new footwear, which will be made by the brand in collaboration with the University of Iowa.
Adidxs first pair of sneakers will be produced in Iowa by the company, which has been building a relationship with the university since 2011.
The shoes, which have been available for purchase at Moults Iowa location since mid-2016, will be available for pre-order in the spring of 2021.
The deal comes a year after the pair debuted, at the 2017 International Sneaker Summit in New York, which saw more than 100 brands attend the event.
