The year 2017 will be remembered as the year of the big screen and digital TV, with more than half of all U.S. homes receiving more than a standard definition TV.
The rise of Netflix and other streaming services has pushed the trend to become more popular with U.K. consumers and with many other nations, according to research by research firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.
The U.N. agency said on Thursday that more than 1.6 billion people had access to digital TVs in 2017, up 9 percent from 2016.
The figure, which was up 8 percent from last year, represents a rise of over 2 million from 2016, when digital TVs were the only way for many people to get digital TV.
“Digital TV remains a powerful way to experience entertainment and connect with friends and family, and is the perfect complement to television viewing,” U.NS.
Secretary-General António Guterres said in a statement.
Digital TV, like traditional TV, offers a way for people to watch, without having to turn on a set-top box or a cable box.
A growing number of people now watch their favorite shows online via streaming services, as well as through their smartphones and tablets.
There are some notable exceptions, however.
U.SK TV is the most expensive cable service in the U.KS.
In 2016, it cost $15.99 per month to rent or purchase a set of three set-tops, according the UESA.
This year, the price has jumped to $19.99.
That’s nearly double the $10.49 it cost in 2016, according data from Nielsen Media Research.
The rise of digital TV has also been driven by a growing number to pay for cable packages and subscriptions.
The average household in the United Kingdom spends $1,972 a year on cable packages, according Nielsen, up 18 percent from the year before.
This is due to the rise of cable TV, which has grown faster than traditional television.
The U.SA’s digital TV market, according a survey by the research firm A2-STAT, represents only a small part of the overall TV market.
UESP data shows that the UBS Group owns the majority of digital services.
The top three services that are available in the market, with an average of 1.5 billion subscribers, are Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Hulu.
